About The George Wilson Group

The George Wilson Group encompasses a number of individual companies which together have been delivering successfully a wide range of innovative commercial developments.

We are unquestionably the premier commercial developer in East Kent and have been so for over 35 years. We bring to the market a broad spectrum of developments, ranging from Grade A office accommodation, specialised manufacturing facilities through to starter units and high-end residential developments. At the George Wilson Group, we embrace the exacting standards set by the demanding and dynamic commercial property market.

We have a client-oriented ethos; Our clients are at the heart of our developments.

We firmly believe in building long-term relationships and exceeding client expectations. Rather than just offering what is only available at that moment, we aim to provide our clients with what they exactly require.

Innovative, pro-active thinking and acting combined with our agile ability to adapt to ever changing market conditions have been proven to work over and over again in delivering premium properties.

For over three decades we have been working together as a team with our enterprising professional partners in architecture, engineering, construction and sales and are therefore able to respond to client demands and wishes in unison. This resulting in saving time, frustration and, very importantly, significant cost savings throughout the whole development process.

A Small History Of The Company

It all started back in the early eighties, when George Wilson wanted to buy a warehouse for his very successful company that dealt in parts for household appliances. The then existing market for commercial real estate couldn’t offer him what he was looking for. The decision was made instantly, George was going to build his own much needed warehouse.

As a novice to the world of commercial real estate George saw many opportunities and possibilities arise that the established construction companies failed to notice. His entrepreneurial skills, tested and tried on his other companies, did prove very useful when entering the dynamic world of construction and development.

As an established mixed-use property developer in Kent for over more than 35 years, George Wilson has been instrumental in pushing forward the economic development of the East Kent region.

With the construction of various thriving industrial and business parks such as St Augustines Business Park, John Wilson Business Park, Joseph Wilson Industrial Estate, Estuary View Medical Centre, Estuary View Business Park, Prospect Retail Park, Chaucer Business Park, Eurocentre Business Park and Lakesview Business Park, the George Wilson Group has enabled economic growth, investment opportunities, jobs and prosperity in Kent.

With a bright and positive outlook on the future, existing business park are being extended. A site comprising of 5.5 acres of land to the rear of the Joseph Wilson Industrial Estate now has planning approval from Canterbury City Council for an 80,000 sq.ft extension and has been adopted in their local plan. Work on the extension will begin in 2021 with an estimated completion of December 2022.

Such as the ongoing expansion of the already flourishing Estuary View Business park with retail, office and medical space, turning it into an even more attractive commercial hub for the wider Whitstable and East Kent region. Plans to extend the Joseph Wilson park with 3.6ha (9 acres) of light industrial units are well underway.

Working alongside Canterbury-based developer Quinn Estates, the George Wilson Group has recently completed an 88,000 sq.ft office building known as Connect 38, adjacent to Ashford International Station and sold the building as an investment to Folkestone and Hythe District Council. Connect 38 was the largest speculative office building to be built in Kent in the last 10 years and generated hundreds of new jobs for the area.
